they are ganging up for an attack
Outside my bedroom window there are two trees. One of these trees is infested with huge cicadas. Not only do the buzz (I refuse to call it singing) all day, until they suddenly stop all at once at sundown, but they also like to come into my room and flounder about.
This is not a pleasent experience.
They are huge.
Like we are talking two inches.
Maybe more-- the Einstein effect of thinks appearing to be shrunkin' as they move.
Right now there is one caught between my window and my curtains, which thankfully I shut a little while earlier. Hopefully it will find its way out soon. It sounds like a giant-ass fly when it flies into the window. AARGH I hate the sound!!!

no screens? blasphemy! get some new zealand style raid and spray it on the frame of the window/curtain. it might not completely stop them from flying in but it might help a bit.
other ideas:
-stick up sticky paper all over your walls and watch them stick to your walls little by little.
-catch them and put them in a jar (a big jar) or an aquarium.
-befriend them and watch your family grow.
