bling boy

Last Tuesday was National Aboriginal Day, here in Canada. Doing research for my job, I went to Victoria Island (which is actually just a peninsula between Ottawa and Quebec) to partake in a “children's powwow.” The organizer had told me that there would be a storyteller there (there was not, and the whole event was very disappointing, but that it besides the point).
The highlight of the day was Bling Boy.

Bling Boy was a ~ 9 year old who was at the event with his class. He wore shiny blue basketball shoes; big, baggy bright yellow shorts; a big red hoodie; an army bandana worn around his head like a sweat band; and of course, a big ol' piece of bling.
